This is your comprehensive guide to swing events in the North East. We are a group of dancers who organize events which are related to swing. Lindy Hop classes and socials, Balboa brunches, Blues parties, and much more… Our aim is to bring together and enlarge the current community in Newcastle centered on swing dance culture and make sure everyone has lots of fun!

SATURDAY 19th MAY
An evening of music, dance and entertainment. Featuring: Colin Bourdiec - Tribute to George Formby, music of the era to dance and sing along to. Rationing is in force –bring your own buffet!

Swing Tyne! presents a brand new drop-in class for absolute beginners. For more information on what balboa is, click here.
Come along and try this graceful swing dance. No experience or partner necessary. Smooth-soled shoes recommended.
7 - 7:50pm £2 (£4 for the whole night inc. lindy hop 8-9pm and social dancing until 11.30pm).

Saturday 2nd June - 1-4pm
The Canny Jubilee gala event will be held outdoors in Princess Square, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The gala, which has been supported by Marks and Spencer, will see vintage hair and make-up demonstrations, live music, Lindy Hop dancing and an interactive ‘you have been crowned’ photo booth! Work created by community groups in the run up to the celebrations will also be on show.
Following the street party there will be a historic royal fashion show by Julia Soares-McCormick from 6.30pm at City Library. Vintage dress encouraged. Free event
