Let's Lindy

Lou and Drew love Lindy, so much that they're launching a campaign to spread the word of Lindy Hop to everyone!

Drew started dancing Lindy Hop at Newcastle University, and can't get enough of it! He has a real passion for the dance, and everything to do with it, and the music it complements so well. His teaching encompasses a varied array of technique and style, and he loves nothing more than doing moves that really emphasise the connection between the lead and follow. His friendly, warm character makes him ultra approachable, he's always willing to help...

Lou's passion for Lindy Hop was instant! Her attention to detail and persistence to get a move or connection exact, allowed her to achieve a very high standard, very quickly! Now with several years experience behind her, Lou is always looking for new moves and ideas. Her enthusiasm, fun teaching style and energy, will keep you on your toes and inspire you!

Whether it's crazily fast, or oozingly slow, or even pleasantly somewhere in between, they will Lindy to it. If you want to learn a technical, fun, social dance, then Lindy Hop is the thing for you, all levels are welcome!

Lindy Jazz

Lindy Jazz Logo

Joo-Lee learnt ballet as a child, attended classes in Contemporary, Street, Salsa, Jive and Tap as an adult but it was her first Lindy Hop workshop in 1993 with Warren Hayes from the Jiving Lindy Hoppers that inspired her to travel to international swing dance events and to create a Lindy Hop community in the North East of England. Joo-Lee is highly qualified, a former Director of Performing Arts, with formal training in music and life coaching. With her warm, relaxed nature, this combination of expertise allows Joo-Lee to build dance confidence and improve skills, performance and technique in dancers of all abilities.

With a passion for jazz, swing and blues, an endless music collection, natural musicality and dance knowledge, Andy is a highly acclaimed Swing and Blues DJ, invited to play at events all over the world! Beginning with ballroom in 1990 and followed by Modern Jive, Blues and Lindy Hop, Andy has studied with legendary teachers such as Frankie Manning, Steven Mitchell, Peter Loggins and Russell Sargeant. His experience and friendly, easy-going attitude, result in an accessible, motivating, connection-based teaching style, encouraging all to feel relaxed and welcome.

Dancing with style and confidence is simple and achievable with expert tuition from a fully trained team, music from our world class DJ and a warm, friendly group of teachers and dancers! No partner necessary! For beginners as well as intermediate dancers. We start with the basics; how to stand, walk and do simple moves. Lloydian Swing

Lloyd Many years ago now, I started to learn how to dance properly. I could thrash around on the dance floor better than most, but I wanted to be able to dance with people instead of just near them. For three years I enjoyed modern jive at my local Ceroc® club, but I felt that there was more that could be done with dance. I noticed that the better keener dancers were sneaking off to do some mysterious other dance called "Lindy hop". I joined them, and after a while became a convert, body and soul. Now I teach swing dance and do what I can to spread the joy of hep cat ways.
